What would it be worth to know where a risk begins?
Origin Risk identifies biological failure before it appears in financial models, insurance pricing or market valuations.
Everything the market can see is an effect.
A claim, a flood, a fire and a write-down are all effects. Every system built to read risk reads them after they arrive.
Insurance is a secondary layer. It responds to what has happened, and prices the coming year from the last one.
The market has data about what happened. It has no declaration of what the thing was before it happened.
Every effect has a cause, and the cause came first.
A dam, a forest, a field and a data centre all rest on living systems of soil, water and root. Those systems hold a condition, set years before any loss.
The loss is the day that condition becomes visible.
Reacting to the effect has never been the only option. There has always been a way upstream.
The reactive model is failing in public.
Cover is being repriced, restricted and withdrawn across the world.
A model can only price a future that resembles its past. That assumption was the foundation of the whole discipline, and it is the part now giving way.
When an insurer withdraws from a place, that place stops existing commercially on the map.
Prices follow losses. They do not explain them.
Not knowing is already costing you.
- What is not knowing costing you today?
- What would your book look like if these losses were no longer surprises?
- Of the millions of hectares of Southeast Asia that supply the food you depend on, how many are you insuring right now?
- How many polygons have you withdrawn from completely because you could not look at them granularly?
- What if you did not have to leave every polygon, but could write the sound part of it and collect premium you are currently walking away from?
Risk has an origin, and the origin can be read.
Know where something began and what condition it is in, and very little about its next chapter has to be a surprise.
A living system is no different. Its age, condition and time left can be known before the loss.
Nobody has asked this question of risk before, which is why the answer has no name in the market yet.
The risk is older than the loss.
The first standard for reading the condition of living systems.
The Biological Time Classification Standard declares the state of a living system on a stated date, for anyone who insures it, lends against it, buys from it or owns it.
